Oova creates personalized scanning plans based on your unique cycle patterns and health goals. Here’s what you need to know about starting, adjusting, and following a scanning plan.
What is a scanning plan?
A scanning plan is a customized testing schedule that tells you:
- When to scan
- How long to scan
- Which test strips to use each day
Oova kits include two types of test strips:
- Strips that measure LH and PdG (a metabolite of progesterone)
- Strips that measure E3G (a metabolite of estrogen)
Your scanning plan will guide you on which strips to use on which days, tailored to your cycle and your selected health goal.
How to start a scanning plan
1. Navigate to the Today screen in your Oova app.
2. Tap the “Find My Best Start Date” button to begin.
3. You’ll be prompted to either:
- Allow Oova to guide you (creating your personalized scanning plan), or
- Proceed with a manual scan (ideal if you received a sample strip or one-time test from your provider)
Once you make your selection, tap “Let’s Go” to confirm and proceed.
4. Enter or estimate the start date of your last period and tap “Yes” or “Done” to confirm.
5. Enter or confirm the number of days you typically bleed during your period and tap “Yes” or “Done” to confirm.
6. You’ll be taken to a page with a summary of your recommended plan. Tap “Set My Schedule” to activate or begin your plan.
7. Check your Today screen for your scanning plan start date. If today is not a scan day, you can go ahead and log your symptoms!
Pro Tip: Turn on Scanning Plan Notifications to remind you when it’s time to start! In the Oova app, tap on “...More” > App Notifications > Toggle on “Recommended Scanning Plan Start Alert” (and any others you’d like to enable!)
8. Once it is time to begin scanning, tap “Scan Now” to start and follow the step-by-step guide on best tips for scanning your test strips.
