Yes, you can still use Oova if you are on hormones, hormone replacement therapy (HRT), or bio-based hormone replacement therapy (this should only be done under the guidance of a clinician or medical provider), and we have many patients who use it for this purpose! Oova is safe to use while you receive these treatments.
This will influence your results, but using Oova can help you see how your body is metabolizing your HRT and find the right balance by tracking both your symptoms and hormone levels together.
Oova's computer vision returns precise readings for LH (0-150 mIU/L), PdG (0-25 ng/mL), and E3G (0-500 pg/mL). These levels are clinically validated to support women who are on HRT. If you find that your levels reported by Oova are at the maximum range, this can be a great conversation starter with your provider about your HRT dosage.
Oova tests allow you to measure your hormones daily, which can be helpful when adjusting any prescriptions. Please note: Any prescription adjustments should always be done under the careful supervision of your healthcare provider.
We recommend monitoring your levels over several days. Since hormones fluctuate throughout the day, we would advise that you 1) test at the same time every day (within the same 1-2 hour window) and 2) consult with your clinician about any dosage adjustments after observing your hormone patterns over a few days.
You can also share your report of your Oova hormone data with your clinician as a resource! The following post shares more information on how to create a report:
