Oova has two types of cartridges:
- Multi-hormone cartridges that measure PdG (a progesterone metabolite) and LH
- Single-hormone cartridges that measure E3G (an estrogen metabolite)
Oova's app is designed to do all the interpreting and analysis, so you don't have to do the mental gymnastics required to decipher traditional ovulation tests. We're here to make your journey easier!
Control line
The control line is the top line (furthest from the QR code). This line must appear on every single cartridge. It lets you know that the scan worked. If this line does not appear, the app will not successfully scan the cartridge.
E3G (estrogen) cartridges
For the estrogen-only test cartridges, you will only see two lines:
- The control line on top (farthest from the QR code)
- The estrogen test line (closest to the QR code)
The line for estrogen gets fainter the higher the concentration of estrogen.
LH/PdG (progesterone) cartridges
The LH/PdG cartridge will have up to two additional lines appear:
- The control line on top (farthest from the QR code)
- The progesterone line (under the control line)
- The LH line (closest to the QR code)
- Under the control line is the progesterone line.
Like the line for estrogen, the progesterone line gets fainter the higher the concentration of progesterone. The LH line, however, will get darker as the LH concentration goes up.
